Fair Play or No Play: Swat Hockey Association Warns Teams of Disqualification

Dr. Zafar Ali Khan, President of the Swat District Hockey Association, issued a stern warning to teams participating in the Khairur Rehman Memorial Hockey Championship: follow the rules or face disqualification from future tournaments.

Speaking to journalists at the event, Dr. Khan emphasized the importance of sportsmanship and adherence to regulations. He highlighted that nineteen teams from across Swat are vying for the trophy, and all have been given a fair chance to compete.

The tournament structure involves three stages: a knockout round, a league round, and a final round (to be decided by the association) culminating in the final match on February 5th, coinciding with Kashmir Day.

Dr. Khan acknowledged that Rahim Club and Zalmi Club received playing rights based on established procedures. He further stated that most teams are cooperating with the association, with only a few exceptions.

The president delivered a clear message: "No team can take shortcuts. Everyone, regardless of affiliation, must abide by the rules. Violation will result in exclusion from future tournaments."

This strong stance underscores the Swat Hockey Association's commitment to promoting fair play and maintaining a level playing field for all participants.
