Revamped Athletics Track Set to Receive Asphalt as Peshawar Sports Complex Nears Completion

The Provincial Sports Directorate is preparing to asphalt the athletics track, a vital component of the extensive reconstruction project underway at the Peshawar Sports Complex.

This key phase is expected to be completed by next month, with practical work on the track commencing within the subsequent two months.

The Directorate's leadership, taking a proactive approach, has conducted a thorough review of the ongoing work, which includes the pavilion, football grounds, and athletics grounds. Notably, the football grounds are nearing completion, with the director emphasizing their advanced status.

Discussions with the contractor have focused on expediting work on the athletics ground ahead of the pavilion to address challenges faced by athletes. The Director General sports has expressed confidence in meeting the deadline and assured that all efforts will be made to adhere to th e schedule.

The ambitious Peshawar Sports Complex mega project, managed by the Provincial Sports Directorate, is projected for completion by September 2024. However, the Directorate faces a financial crisis, leading to delays. Currently, approximately 35% of the reconstruction work has been completed, highlighting the significant progress made so far.

The Directorate remains determined to overcome financial constraints and achieve the completion of this critical sports infrastructure project.

This development is a significant step forward in revitalizing the Peshawar Sports Complex and providing athletes with access to state-of-the-art facilities.

The project's completion will contribute to the development of sports in the region and provide a platform for athletes to excel.
