"Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Gymnasts Struggle with Funding for Inter-Provincial Competition"

The six-member gymnastics team representing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa faces a significant funding hurdle as they prepare for the upcoming inter-provincial gymnastics competitions in Lahore. Unfortunately, funds for the team have yet to be arranged, posing a challenge to their participation in the prestigious event.

The selection of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa team took place just three days ago after rigorous trials conducted under the supervision of the Gymnastics Association secretary. The trials saw participation from gymnasts representing different districts within the province. Despite their successful selection, the team is currently in a precarious situation due to the lack of financial support.

The Provincial Sports Directorate, responsible for facilitating and supporting athletes, has issued an apology for being unable to provide essential kits and equipment. They clarified that they currently do not have the necessary funds to allocate for the gymnastics team's expenses, including their journey to Lahore.

The Secretary of the Gymnastics Association revealed that they have not received expected grant assistance, leaving them in a challenging position to facilitate the team's participation in the upcoming competition. In a proactive move, the gymnasts are reaching out to the community for support, attempting to secure loans from various individuals to cover the financial gap and ensure their representation in the inter-provincial competitions.

It's important to note that Provincial Sports Directorates play a vital role in promoting sports and supporting athletes' welfare. Their primary responsibility is to provide necessary facilities and resources to enhance the overall sporting experience for players.
