Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Swimming Team Barred from Competitions Due to Non-Election of Provincial Sports Body

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa swimming team sent by the Provincial Sports Directorate has been barred from participating in the Pakistan Swimming Federation competitions due to the non-election of a provincial sports body.

The team was sent to Lahore to participate in the recent competitions, but was stopped from competing by the federation. The federation said that the team could not participate because there was no elected provincial sports body in place.

The trials for the team were conducted by employees of the Provincial Sports Directorate. However, the federation said that this was not enough, and that a properly elected body was needed to ensure the legitimacy of the team.

The team has now returned to Peshawar. The Provincial Sports Directorate has said that it is working to resolve the issue and that it hopes to have a team participating in future competitions.
