DSO Charsadda Absent from Office, Female and Hockey Players Barred from Practice
Charsadda, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan: Female badminton players and hockey players have been barred from practicing at the Abdul Wali Khan Sports Complex in Charsadda without paying admission fees. This has left many players, who come from poor families, out of practice for over 20 days.
The
players have appealed to the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the caretaker
Chief Minister to take notice of the situation. They argue that the District
Sports Officer (DSO) Imran Khan, who is also the Sports Director in Peshawar,
is neglecting his duties in Charsadda and wasting their energy and talent by
preventing them from practicing.
Khan
has been absent from office for the past two months, and local officials claim
that they are acting on his orders to ban female players without admission fees
and to prevent anyone from training at the complex. However, Khan's absence
from office and his lack of communication with local officials has raised
questions about his commitment to his job.
The
players' demands are simple: they want the DSO to return to his post in
Charsadda, lift the ban on female players and hockey players, and waive the
admission fees for players from poor families.
The
Abdul Wali Khan Sports Complex is one of the largest sports complexes in Khyber
Pakhtunkhwa. It has facilities for a variety of sports, including cricket,
football, hockey, badminton, and squash. The complex is also home to a swimming
pool and a gymnasium.
The
players' demands are reasonable and should be met by the authorities. Sports
play an important role in society, and everyone should have the opportunity to
participate in sports, regardless of their financial background. When
contacted, the Director General Sports Kp and DSO Charsadda did not respond to
the issue.
