Civil Quarter Grounds Closed for Maintenance, Causing Upset Among Locals

The Civil Quarter Grounds, run by the Directorate of Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, have been closed for maintenance. Soil extracted from the Provincial Sports Directorate has been put on the grounds, and a ban has been imposed on people coming for walks and playing hockey, football, and volleyball. People have been instructed that no one is allowed to come to the Civil Quarter Grounds until the maintenance work is completed.

 

The closure of the grounds has caused upset among locals, as it is the only place for their children to play. People from the areas adjacent to the Civil Quarter also come here for walking and playing other games.

 

In addition, a football tournament that was being held at the civil Quarter Ground was recently stopped after a dispute between the tournament organization and the administration. The semi-finals and final of the tournament could not be held as a result.

 

The closure of the Civil Quarter Grounds and the cancellation of the football tournament have left locals with few options for recreation. They are hoping that the maintenance work will be completed soon so that they can once again enjoy the use of these facilities.
