PESHAWAR SPORTS COMPLEX: Rusting Iron Rods Pose Concerns for Reconstruction Efforts

The ongoing reconstruction of the Peshawar Sports Complex is facing a major setback as newly planted trees begin to show signs of rust.

Despite the incomplete state of the grounds and the pending installation of the tartan track, the contractor has prematurely concluded the final stages of the project. Initial work involved cutting sturdy iron rods and replacing them with thin pipes.

These non-standard, fragile rods have already started rusting due to their poor quality. Moreover, they are unable to withstand the ground's conditions, making them unfit for long-term use.

By the time the construction of the grounds is complete, these pipes will likely be completely destroyed. The sports community is calling for immediate action to address this substandard work carried out under the supervision of the sports directorate's engineers.
