International Squash Player Fawad Suffers Hand Fracture in Appalling Attack
Peshawar - Disturbing news emerged as international squash
player Fawad fell victim to an attack at the Qamar Zaman Squash Complex,
resulting in a fracture to his left hand. The incident occurred as Fawad was en
route to participate in the highly anticipated International Squash
Championship, scheduled to take place in Islamabad from June 2.
According to reports, a junior player, improperly attired in
slippers, attempted to enter the squash court. Fawad, recognizing the potential
safety hazard, requested the player to remove the slippers. In an unfortunate turn
of events, the wiper used for cleaning the court struck Fawad's hand, causing
injury. The culprit responsible for the incident swiftly fled the scene,
leaving Fawad lying on the ground in pain, unnoticed by anyone present.
Realizing the severity of the situation, security officer and
squash coach Muhammad Tahir immediately contacted emergency services at 1122
for prompt medical assistance. Fawad, an esteemed international squash player,
had also been nominated to represent the nation in the National Games. Regrettably,
due to an oversight by the squash federation, he was denied the opportunity to
compete. As he prepared to address this setback, he became the target of the
attack that resulted in the fracture of his hand.
