In a shocking revelation, it has come to light that the Sports Directorate in Peshawar, along with various districts, has been appointing individuals based on political connections as daily wage workers. Among these appointments, one particularly striking case involves a butcher from Abbottabad who was appointed as a junior clerk in July 2022. Astonishingly, this individual has not yet fulfilled his duties in Peshawar but continues to receive a regular salary, all funded by the Provincial Sports Directorate.

 

Sources indicate that this recruitment trend stems from political favoritism, with the Sports Directorate employing their own relatives from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. These political appointees, along with their relatives, have secured crucial positions within the Sports Directorate, enabling them to freely distribute public tax money among themselves in the form of salaries.

 

This blatant misuse of public funds has sparked widespread outrage, as citizens question the fairness and integrity of the Sports Directorate's operations. The appointment of unqualified individuals and the subsequent disregard for their duties has raised concerns about the transparency and accountability of the institution.

 

The citizens of Peshawar and beyond demand immediate action to rectify this unjust practice, ensuring that public resources are utilized responsibly and ethically. It is high time for the Sports Directorate to address these alarming allegations and restore the public's trust.
