Peshawar - The Tariq Wadud Badminton Hall, under the Provincial Sports Directorate, has been grappling with the repercussions of a non-standard synthetic court, resulting in mounting discomfort for badminton players. In response to complaints of knee and joint pain, the DG Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has taken immediate action, directing the contractor responsible for the court to adhere to the required standards. Failure to comply may lead to the blacklisting of the company, alongside potential fines.

Not only has the Tariq Wadud Badminton Hall suffered from the substandard synthetic court, but other venues like the Hayatabad Sports Complex have also faced similar issues. These courts, riddled with bubbles, have become a breeding ground for player injuries, ranging from sprains to chronic joint pain.

Recognizing the seriousness of the situation, the DG Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has issued directives to both standardize the synthetic court and install separate mats for the players.

These measures are aimed at ensuring the safety and well-being of the athletes. Non-compliance with these instructions may result in severe consequences for the responsible company, including fines and potential blacklisting.

The importance of maintaining high-quality sports facilities cannot be overstated, as it directly impacts the physical health and performance of athletes.
