Quetta , "Quetta witnesses unresolved dispute as WAPDA fails to present player records, favoritism towards KPK team continues in National Games. The Ayub Football Ground in Quetta witnessed a prolonged dispute between the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) and WAPDA teams during the ongoing National Games.

 

WAPDA, the Water and Power Development Authority, failed to provide the necessary documentation for two of its players, Tanveer and Simran, resulting in a delay of over four hours.

The KPK team officials were informed that they were not included in the manager's meeting, which invalidated their objections against the two players from WAPDA. Additionally, WAPDA faced protests for allegedly feeding two SA Garden players .

 

Chief D Mission Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ilyas Afridi, along with representatives from the Provincial Sports Directorate, Kashif Farhan and Faisal Javed, voiced their concerns and instructed WAPDA to provide the records of Tanveer and Simran. However, after four hours of delay, the KPK team was informed that Chaudhry Yaqub, responsible for the records, was occupied with a volleyball match.

 

Furthermore, Khalid Mahmood, the secretary of Pakistan Olympic and a WAPDA member, was accused of favoring his department, hindering the presentation of records. Despite complaints from the KPK football team regarding the violation of Olympic rules, the football players, Simran and Tanveer, who participated against WAPDA in the Challenge Cup football championship for SA Garden Club in January and February, were still included in the WAPDA team after five months, which is deemed illegal. WAPDA's failure to provide necessary documents, including payslips, medical tests, and affiliation-related paperwork, violates Olympic rules and should result in disqualification. However, the KPK football team, despite qualifying for the semi-finals, has been suspended."
