📰 Syed Aqeel Shah, the Senior Vice President of Pakistan Olympic Association and Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Olympic Association, graced the ongoing National Games at the Bitum Sports Complex in Quetta. His visit aimed to witness the thrilling Taekwondo and Judo competitions. Kashif Farhan from the Sports Directorate of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa extended a warm welcome to Syed Aqil Shah upon his arrival. The judo team also had the privilege of capturing memorable pictures with him.

 

During his visit, Syed Aqil Shah expressed his keen interest in the Taekwondo competitions and engaged with the organizers to gain insights. As he observed the kata competitions involving young Taekwondo athletes, the atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm. Afterward, Syed Aqil shah proceeded to the hall where the Judo competitions were taking place. He witnessed the intense matches and encouraged the judo players who represented Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

 

On the first day of the Judo competitions, remarkable performances were witnessed in the men's 50 kg and women's 40 kg categories. The Army secured the gold medal in the men's division, while the women's competition also saw the Army claiming the top spot. In the open competitions, the gold medal went to WAPDA. Syed Aqeel Shah's presence and support undoubtedly boosted the spirits of the judo players from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
