Quetta witnessed the commencement of the highly anticipated qualifying round of archery competitions in the National Games. Taking place at the prestigious Butum Sports Complex, the female archery qualifiers showcased remarkable talent on the first day. Prince Ahmed Ali, Chairman of the Archery Association Balochistan, graced the event as the chief guest, accompanied by Zulfiqar Butt, the Secretary of Archery Federation, and Attaullah, President of Balochistan Archery Association, who was introduced to the players.

 

During the event, the chief guest was apprised of the utilization of Pakistan's first international scoring software, a groundbreaking addition at the national level, to be employed in the upcoming competitions associated with the 94th National Games. The introduction of this software marks a significant milestone in archery competitions in the country.

 

In the female qualifying competitions, the Army player emerged as the frontrunner, securing an impressive 536 points. Umm Kulsoom, also from the Army, secured the second position with 531 points, closely followed by Kiran Ahmed of WAPDA at the third position with 530 points. Shaista, another talented archer from the Army, stood at the fourth position with 500 points. Notably, female archers from navy and Punjab actively participated, while the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa team secured the fourteenth position in the qualifying round with 319 points.

 

The Army and WAPDA teams exhibited exceptional performances, with their archers prominently featuring in the top ten of the qualifying round. However, the host Balochistan's female archery team, unfortunately, did not participate in the competitions, adding a unique aspect to the event.

 

The archery qualifying round marked an exciting beginning to the National Games, with impressive displays of skill and competitive spirit. As the competition progresses, spectators eagerly anticipate witnessing the exceptional talent of archers from various regions across Pakistan.
