Peshawar ,  Attention all sports fans! The silence surrounding the committee formed by the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) is causing concern over the Lala Ayub Hockey Stadium. Despite objections raised about the new turf, the committee, which consists of four PSB employees and the Associate Secretary of Hockey Federation and President of Provincial Hockey Association, Syed Zahir Shah, has not yet paid a visit to the stadium.

The controversy erupted when non-standard turf was installed, leading to dissatisfaction among stakeholders. In response, the PSB established a committee during the holy month of Ramadan, with the task of inspecting the Lala Ayub Hockey Stadium. However, it has been over two months, and the committee has failed to make an appearance or submit any report regarding the substandard work done on the turf.

What's more alarming is that the contract for laying the turf was supposed to be completed in six months but took an entire year. Now, just three months later, wrinkles have already started appearing on the surface. Previously, the female director, Rashida Ghaznavi, had raised objections and highlighted the substandard work in her report submitted to the former Director General of Sports, Khalid Khan. The engineering wing head was appointed to lead the committee responsible for assessing the situation and submitting a report, but no progress has been made so far.

Let's raise our voices against corruption and demand transparency in sports infrastructure! We urge the committee to fulfill their responsibilities and provide an update on the situation at Lala Ayub Hockey Stadium. Stay tuned for further developments! 🏑⚠️🚫
