Quetta, Pakistan - The first phase of the 34th National
Games witnessed outstanding performances by teams from defense institutions,
securing top positions in various sports competitions until May 21. Notably,
the Higher Education Commission claimed the fifth position, while the teams
from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa settled for the sixth spot. Excitingly, the second
phase featuring individual sports competitions is set to commence on May 22,
accompanied by a grand March Past ceremony, as reported.
According to the latest medal tally released on May 6, Murad Ali, a talented badminton player from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, secured a gold medal. Additionally, the team garnered a silver medal along with four bronze medals.
The overall standings showcase forty-five gold medals,
thirty-two silver medals, and twenty-two bronze medals for the current leaders,
followed by Wadapchas in the second position with seventeen gold medals,
seventeen silver medals, and twenty-one bronze medals. The Pakistan Air Force
(PAF) claimed the fourth position, clinching two gold medals, thirteen silver
medals, and thirteen bronze medals. Meanwhile, the Higher Education Commission
attained the fifth rank with one gold medal, one silver medal, and seventeen
bronze medals. In the sixth position, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa secured one gold
medal, one silver medal, and several bronze medals.
As the games progress, the second stage will witness
individual competitions starting tomorrow. Prior to the commencement of the
competitions, an awe-inspiring March Past ceremony will take place, featuring
the participation of teams from the four provinces and various departments.
