Challenging Wind Conditions Test Archers at Quetta National Games

QUETTA - The strong winds in Quetta posed a significant challenge for archers participating in the ongoing archery competition at the Beotam Sports Complex. During the qualifying round competitions on the first day, female archers faced tremendous difficulties as the wind speed intensified, causing many senior archers to struggle to hit their targets. Conversely, the male archers faced relatively less difficulty due to reduced air pressure on the day of the men's individual competitions.

The exceptional performance of the Pakistan Army archers in these challenging conditions can be attributed to their month-long training camp held in Quetta. Both male and female archers from the Pakistan Army participated in the camp, allowing them to acclimate to Quetta's atmospheric conditions. Consequently, their familiarity with the air in Quetta played a crucial role in their improved performance during the archery competitions.

Although the Army archers did not achieve as high scores as in previous competitions, Army coach Raffaqat Hussain expressed satisfaction with their performance. He highlighted the joyous achievement of the Army's male and female archers securing top positions in these competitions. The coach remains optimistic about the continuation of their series of successes in the future.

The challenging weather conditions and the resilience of the archers have added an extra level of excitement to the Quetta National Games. As the competition unfolds, the archers strive to overcome the wind's obstacles and exhibit their exceptional skills at the shooting range.
