Quetta , In a grand celebration of excellence, the medal distribution ceremony was held to honor the outstanding archers who achieved remarkable positions at the 34th National Games. The event took place in Quetta and witnessed the presence of esteemed guests, including Pakistan Olympic Secretary Khalid Mehmood and Secretary Sports Balochistan Ishaq Jamali.

 

Colonel Sadaf, in charge of sports for the Pakistan Army, along with representatives from the Balochistan Archery Association, Atta Muhammad and Altaf Shahwani, and members of the Olympic Association from Sindh, were also present at the ceremony. The Archery Federation Secretary, Zulfiqar Butt, delivered a speech acknowledging the achievements and plans for the future.

 

During his speech, Zulfiqar Butt highlighted the instructions received from the President of the Archery Federation, Retired General Arif Hasan. As per these instructions, preparations have been initiated for the compound competition, and three compound bows will be provided to the provinces. This move aims to enhance archery opportunities and promote the sport at a grassroots level.

 

Butt further expressed gratitude towards General Arif Hasan for his tireless efforts in the development of archery over the past year and a half. He emphasized that the Archery Federation's initiatives have led to the emergence of more than fifteen archers who have qualified for international competitions, showcasing Pakistan's prowess in the sport.

 

The ceremony reached its pinnacle when the chief guest, Pakistan Olympic Secretary Khalid Mehmood, presented medals and shields to the exceptional players and teams who achieved prominent positions in the archery competitions.

 

The event served as a testament to the progress and success of archery in Pakistan, not only at the national level but also on the international stage, thanks to the unwavering dedication and support of the Archery Federation and its esteemed President, Retired General Arif Hasan.
