Empowering Young Cricket Players in Peshawar

Peshawar ,  The Maaz Ullah Khan Cricket Academy, located in the Peshawar Sports Complex in Peshawar, is a government-run cricket academy under the supervision of the Sports Directorate Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

The academy is designed to teach cricket basics to young players who are admitted to the first government cricket academy.

Since its inception, the academy has produced some of Pakistan's finest cricket players. Mohammad Rizwan, Haris Sohail, and Fazal Akbar are among the players who have honed their skills at this academy and are now part of the Pakistan Cricket Academy.

The academy is known for its quality coaching staff and the rigorous training regime that it provides to young players.

The academy has trained more than 300 players from under 12 to under 19 age groups. The academy is closed during the month of Ramadan and is set to open in May 2023. Despite the academy's popularity, it is facing some issues that need to be addressed.

The main issue is that the academy's capacity is limited to 100 players, but more than 300 players are getting training, which is leading to overcrowding and causing problems during practice sessions.

The Sports Directorate KP is responsible for the academy's maintenance and funding, but it seems that they are not giving the academy the attention it deserves.

Due to the lack of funds and resources, there have been incidents during practice sessions. It is essential that the Sports Directorate KP takes necessary steps to ensure that the academy has the necessary resources to provide a safe and conducive learning environment for young players.

In conclusion, the Maaz Ullah Khan Cricket Academy has played a vital role in developing the cricketing talent in the region. It has produced some of Pakistan's best cricket players and has provided a platform for young players to showcase their skills. However, the academy's current issues need to be addressed so that it can continue to produce the country's future cricket stars.
