Peshawar.. The director of the engineering wing of the provincial sports directorate has said that his committee is not authorized to check the quantity and quality of the work done by the Pakistan Sports Board regarding the delivery of the hockey turf to be made in the provincial sports directorate. He was talking journalist in his office yesterday , He confirmed that our work is only handing taking.  

provincial sports directorate has formed a committee under the supervision of its director of engineering wing Ahmed Zeib.  according to chairman we Visited the hockey stadium and some things are wrong , but the contractor fix it and we will only check the PC one.

Ahmed zeb said , that its  not our job to check the quantity and quality and if this is done, then the Lala Ayub hockey stadium will be closed for player. He did not reveal the names of other members of the committee formed for the ground handover.

Two day back , Artificial grass is coming out from different parts of the turf laid in the Lala Ayub Hockey Stadium managed by the Provincial Sports Directorate. 

This was revealed  during the visit of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Olympic Association President Syed Aqeel Shah, who was accompanied by Syed Zahir Shah, Hidayatullah and Ziaullah Banuri of the Provincial Hockey Association. 

They Informed Syed Aqil Shah about the issues in turf  and  showed the artificial grass coming out of different parts of the turf, which are coming out automatically from the turf planted in December. 

Zahir shah inform him that the turf has been completely uprooted from different places, Syed Aqil Shah expressed regret over the substandard work of the Lala Ayub Hockey Stadium and demanded that the sub-standard turf be removed and it is an abuse of the game of hockey and the players.

The new small fountains to be installed by the Pakistan Sports Board in the Lala Ayub Hockey Stadium in Peshawar are very poor. The wall was left as it was by the contractor and the red colored wall was later found on the ground. 

Last week , Miss Rashida Ghaznavi, Director of Provincial Sports Directorate, District Sports Officer Gul Rukh, Engineering Wing officials and PSB contractor visited Lala Ayub Hockey Stadium .

The Provincial Sports Directorate has not yet revealed who is included in the committee formed by the Provincial Sports Directorate. However, the contractor did not provide the PC One of Lala Ayub Hockey Stadium.

Sources confirmed that the members of the Provincial Sports Directorate tried to sign the handover papers from the directorate, but they asked for all the papers. Later, the District Sports Officer was urged to sign the papers for extradition, but she also refused to sign the papers immediately.

On behalf of the Provincial Sports Directorate, a committee has been given the responsibility for handing over the new turf of the Lala Ayub Hockey Stadium, to whom the owner of the same company has given passports for the astro turf to be laid in Swabi in August 2022 and A letter was written to submit the documents for the visa. 

A letter was issued in August 2022 to the engineering wing of the Provincial Sports Directorate on behalf of Sachal Traders to ensure quality work. Therefore, the name of the engineer should be given so that he can go out and check what kind of turf to bring.
