80 Kanal lands for cycling velodrome got in Peshawar, DSO
PESHAWAR, , The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports Directorate has
acquired 80 kanal lands in outskirt area of Peshawar Ghari Baloch for Cycling
Velodrome and construction on the lands for the velodrome would soon be
started.
District Sports Officer Anwar Kamal Barki informed media persons
here on Friday, he said that it would be the second best velodrome after
Punjab, and other sports facilities would also be available there. A bright on
creek between Charsadda Road and the concerned lands will also be constructed
to have an easy access to the velodrome, he said.
During visit to the Ghari Baloch 80 kanal land for velodrome,
the DSO said that credit went to the provincial government, which was striving
to promote sports and provide all kind of facilities to the national,
international and grooming players in different games.
He said that works on sports complex and play grounds in
Peshawar and other districts of the province was going on, which would surely
pay ways for the sports loving people specially those, who want to go ahead in
the field.
He expressed his wishes that he wants to promote sports
activities in Peshawar and support them at every level so that the players
could able to achieve the lost titles to the country in different games.
Being an international player of taekwondo and a good
horse-rider, I’m ambitious to promote sports activities in Peshawar, for which,
he added would leave no stone unturned to make the youngsters’ heed towards
sports. He maintained that he was acquainted with the problems of the players
and ensured to resolve them at priority basis in order to provide problem-free
atmosphere to the players.
The DSO termed Peshawar a hub of talents in various games as he
said that people from different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa adopted Peshawar as
their permanent abode and if their youngsters were brought to the grounds, no
doubt, future of sports of the province would be bright.
