We cannot allow the government to adopt wrong policies , Hamayun Khan

Peshawar (Kikxnow ) The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chapter is going to convene All Party Conference (APC) to discuss to the government policies and its measurements regarding coronavirus on 13th June 2020.

Provincial president of the party Hamayun Khan informed the media persons here at Peshawar Press Club. The APC will be held here at the provincial president’s house.

He expressed his grave concern over increasing of coronavirus in the country and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (PK) due to incompetency of the governments not to take important steps to prevent the disease.

Criticizing the federal government’s failure in providing petrol at pumps, which he said also caused surge in coronavirus as people stand in queue for their turn in getting oil for several hours without following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

He said that instead of paying heeds on issues being faced by the masses including eradication of coronavirus, the government is making media trials of opposition through its private persons and their character assassination as well aimed at hiding its incompetency.

Eulogizing the steps of the Sindh government for prevention of coronavirus, he said as compared to the federal and KP governments, the PPP government in the province had taken important and solid steps to eradicate the virus but the federal government instead of praising the Sindh government, is putting hurdles in this regard.

Commenting on the Ahsas Program of the government, the provincial president alleged that Become Income Support Program (BISP) was withheld for three months and then the same amount was distributed.

He said that his party believed in serving the masses and democracy that was the reason his party took great step to devolve provincial autonomy to the provinces when it was into power, which is being strived to bring amendments. “We would not allow the government to bring the amendments in the 18th amendments”, he expressed the PPP stance.

Responding to different queries, he said it was not the time for the politics but unity as the country is passing through its critical phase because of coronavirus and other crises but the government is not ready to consult with the opposition how to tackle them.

We cannot allow the government to adopt wrong policies, which directly affect the masses including coronavirus, sky rocketing price hike, shortage of petrol and others and that’s why the PPP provincial chapter decided to hold an APC to ponder over all these issues, in which a unanimous declaration would be issued aimed at compelling the government to devise pro-nation policies.

Regarding locusts, the PPP provincial president said that the Sindh had taken steps to protect standing crops from the locusts while the governments led by Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) failed to keep safe the crops in other provinces and eradicate them.
