Pakistan Sports Board Temporarily Suspends Three Top Officials of Chess Federation
Musarrat Ullah Jan , KikxNow , Digital Creator Islamabad: The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has temporarily suspended the President of the Chess Federation of Pakistan (CFP), Hanif Qureshi, Finance Secretary Raja Gauhar Iqbal, and General Secretary Omar Khan. The suspension will remain in effect until the completion of a full financial audit by the Auditor General of Pakistan (AGP). Meanwhile, all bank accounts of the CFP have been frozen. According to the PSB, the action comes in response to allegations of financial irregularities, constitutional violations, and unauthorized withdrawals of funds, made by both parties against each other. Raja Gauhar Iqbal claimed his suspension was unconstitutional, as it was issued without proper consultation with the General Body, which is mandatory under the CFP constitution.
